We have some good news and some bad news for you all. I’ll give you the bad news first. “The Pickering Post” is being shut down at the end of January, and we will no longer be able to post and write here.
The good news is, that myself and the rest of the team will simply move to a new domain, change our name and continue on exactly the same as before.
For those of you who know and love the site, the change should be almost unnoticeable. You will simply need to put a new bookmark in the “favourites” section of your browser and continue on as before.
Finding a new name wasn’t easy. The big problem is that all the good domain names (with the .com after it) have been taken. We eventually settled on “THE RICHARDSON POST.”
The advantage of this name is that you all know me by now and so it will be easy for people to find; if they are searching for us.
I can’t say for sure what will happen to the older articles. Hopefully, they will all be staying. I will just say that if you have a favourite article which is more than a year old, I would recommend saving it onto your computer.
We’ll keep you updated of course but as I said, the change shouldn’t affect the users too much. We (particularly Brendan) will deal with any problems in the back end as they arise. We don’t foresee any at this stage.
The one thing that you can all do, is to publicise our change of name and domain to as many people as possible so they all know who we are and where to find us. That would help to reduce any impact from Google reducing our search rankings.
Thanks once again from the team, to all of you who spend time here, and particularly those of you who support us financially. We are greatly indebted to your generosity. I know many of you are not wealthy and yet you are prepared to make those sacrifices which provides this vital free speech forum for those of us on the Right.
As we mentioned previously, please sign up for our newsletter (we haven’t got one, we just need your email address so that we don’t lose contact with you if the worst happens).
And don’t worry, the show will go on.
